From June 9th – 16th 2024 I documented Emma Timmis’s attempt at the Ngā Puna Wai Sports Hub to break her fourth Guinness World Record for the ’Greatest Distance Covered on a Treadmill in One Week’.
The great news is that she did it! A whopping 846.16 KM over 7 days smashing not just the female record but also the male one too! Emma was also running for the Speed Freaks charity and there was excess of $11,000 in donations.
I’ve been involved with the long distance running scene in some capacity for many years now but this experience was really a highlight for me. I want to thank Emma and her support crew for such an amazing week and making me feel right at home. What a cool experience being part of such a fun crew and event. You are all legends.
